II. Present and Future Considerations

A.    Facility and Space Needs [1.3.6]

Currently we occupy about 3,400 square feet of space at Christ United Methodist Church. The congregation has indicated that more space is available as the need exists.

B.    Enrollment Projections [1.3.6]

(2 classrooms x 4 evenings (M, T, W, Th) @ 12 students per class for 21 months = 96 students, if at capacity) – This would overload the media/library/break room facilities that are currently available. One option to exceed the present student capacity would be moving to a third classroom and/or additional class nights. During the coming months we will compile cost estimates for additional space and furnishings.

C.    Student “satisfaction” Survey [1.4.4]

During the week of August 18-22 the student survey was administered. (30 questions x 44 students = a total of 1320 possible responses). Responses ranged from “Strongly Agree” and “Agree” (positive) to “Strongly Disagree” and “Disagree” (negative), plus “No Response”, “Not Applicable”, and “Neutral”.

     The Results:

     SA and A (positive) responses = N of 1144 (99.6 percent)

SD and D (negative) responses = N of 5 (.4 of one percent)

The NR, NA and Neutral responses = N of 171

D.    Additional Degrees and/or Majors [1.1.15]

This topic needs further discussion and research.

E.    LaGrange College at Albany Scholarship Established [1.3.8]

During the past year a special gift of about $1,000 per year for the next several years will provide the funds for an annual scholarship to an Albany student.

F.    Faculty/Staff Events

During the past year two all faculty/staff events have been held for Albany full-time and part-time personnel. The focus of the most recent event was to promote the concept of servant leadership and how it impacts the Albany curriculum and program.

In summary, Jason, Melissa and I want to thank you and the LaGrange College community for the opportunity to serve and be a part of the LaGrange College family. It is our goal to make you, our students and the community we serve proud of LaGrange College at Albany.
