Emergency Shelter

The Student Center is equipped with an emergency generator that is fueled by natural gas. It is equipped with a transfer switch designed to start within seconds after a power failure. The generator has the capability to restore lighting and limited electrical service to all three floors of the facility, limited HVAC systems, water heaters and kitchen facilities. Elevators, however, will not be operational.
